In the final Conversation with Cabrera for the Fall 2022 semester, President Cabrera will sit down with award-winning journalist and author, Sherry Boschert, to discuss her latest book 37 Words: Title IX and Fifty Years of Fighting Sex Discrimination. From helping women access education and professional opportunities to shaping athletics and making sure students have a safe learning environment, Title IX has impacted every aspect of higher education. Learn more about how this historic piece of legislation passed and what the future could hold for Georgia Tech and all of Higher Education. Limited seating will be available in the Scholar’s Event Theater and the discussion will also be webcast via zoom.

This year (through June 2023) is the 50th anniversary of Title IX. Controversy has followed this civil rights law from day one up to today. Especially with debates about abortion services and the rights of transgender athletes during this election year, Title IX is in the spotlight more than ever.
