Longleaf pine forests are one of the most biologically rich ecosystems in the world, second only to tropical rainforests. Artist Kristin Leachman captures the tree’s marvelously scaly and fire-resistant surface in her large-scale paintings. Explore these, then make a tree bark-inspired collage in the Michael and Mary Erlanger Studio Classroom.
For those who cannot attend in-person, Family Day To-Go Kits available for pick-up starting at 1 p.m. Saturday through the end of day Sunday while supplies last.
Family Day is sponsored by Lucy and Buddy Allen and the Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art.
