Since its founding in 1982, the Carter Center has focused on justice, peace and health of communities far and near. During this tour at the Carter Center, we will talk about the contributions of former President Jimmy Carter, his wife Rosalynn Carter, and the late Congressman John Lewis as well as the history of the area and the magnificent trees that witnessed it. We sketch along our path the flora, architecture, and artwork surrounding the center. Highlights include the President’s Garden, unique tree species from all over the world, and a lovely skyline viewing of Atlanta through the urban canopy.
