Showcase Closing Party

The public is then invited to the show’s closing reception on Friday October 14 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at the Decatur Visitors Center. The show features 7 artists who bring a unique perspective to their work, based on their cultures. This diverse group are all (or have roots) from several Latin American countries, including Venezuela, Costa Rica, Columbia, Puerto Rico and Mexico.

Additionally, the closing reception features authentic food, drink and an artist market - and Alexandra V. Méndez, a Decatur author with roots in Mexico and Mississippi, whose first novel, "What the Jaguar Told Her" is based on her experiences as a Latinx girl, straddling between two cultures.
