Join the City of Hapeville for the second installment of the 2025 Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers Spring Series—a FREE screening of This World is Not My Own. Blending traditional documentary storytelling with animation and dramatization, this film explores the life and art of Nellie Mae Rowe, a self-taught Black artist from Georgia. Emmy-winning actress Uzo Aduba brings an animated version of Rowe to life as the film dives into Rowe's creative journey.
The evening kicks off with a 6 p.m. pre-screening reception featuring complimentary food, beverages and live music, followed by the 7 p.m. screening and a post-film Q&A with the filmmakers.
