MODA's Teen Jam sessions invite young designers, ages 12-18, to engage with designers from various backgrounds during a 2-hour virtual workshop. Each month a designer speaks about their work, answers questions students might have, and helps lead participants through a hands-on design activity. On September 10, we will be joined by designExplorr creative director Dr.Jacinda N. Walker who will lead a workshop about design careers. Jacinda will talk about the educational path to becoming a designer, skills designers need, salary opportunities, and day-to-day work tasks.

Participants will complete a career canvas worksheet, create a vision board to help identify their interests, and learn how to set smart goals to achieve a successful creative career. This session is for high school and college students interested in learning more about graphic, web, industrial, interior, fashion, user experience, architecture, photography, and illustration.
