Join us for a virtual Lunch and Learn with UGA Extension and Natural Resource Agent Gabrielle LaTora on the Southern Pine Beetle. The Southern Pine Beetle is the most destructive insect of the Southeastern Forest. It kills all species of southern yellow pines in Georgia through the creation of egg galleries just beneath the pine’s bark, and blocking the tree’s water transport system via a fungi the beetle carries. Learn more about this pest, and what can be done in Georgia in response to this forest pest.
