Experience the Chattahoochee River like never before at the Westside Chattahoochee Paddle 2024! This 11-mile kayaking tour will guide participants through the "West Atlanta" section of the Chattahoochee River Water Trail. Although underutilized by most paddlers, this stretch of the river is rich in both natural beauty and cultural history; from the remnants of the Chattahoochee Brick Company, a site where African American inmates were forced into brutal labor; to Buzzard’s Roost Island, a place steeped in Native American heritage. Participants won’t just paddle during this experience, they’ll immerse themselves in a river of culture, community, and fun.
