The thrills start here at the granddaddy of them all, Six Flags Over Georgia, the largest amusement park in the state. Dubbed “The Thrill Capital of the South” all the big thrills are here with exciting new rides to discover every year. Coaster addicts will be in heaven with nearly a dozen to experience, each with their own unique spin—from The Dahlonega Mine Train, a longtime family favorite, to the 11-story, stand-up Georgia Scorcher, and the not-for-the-faint-of-heart “Goliath,” which rockets you off at 70-mph 200 feet into the air.

When the excitement gets too hot, cool off in Calypso Bay in Hurricane Harbor, (Open May through September) or take a ride on one of the park’s waterslides, the twisty-turny Bonzai Pipeline, or the Tsunami Surge. Plenty of gentle adventures for little ones and family-friendly rides everyone will enjoy, plus dining and shopping, and special seasonal events like Fright Nights, and Holiday in the Park, makes Six Flags Over Georgia a one-stop shop for #ATLFun.
