Here are our top picks for where to find the freshest produce and other artisan goods in Atlanta.

EAST ATLANTA VILLAGE FARMERS MARKET

One of Atlanta’s oldest farmers markets, East Atlanta Village Farmers Market provides locally grown, seasonal vegetables and fruits, organic meats, dairy and eggs, artisan-produced breads and other delicacies, as well as artisan goods like soaps and jewelry. Watch cooking demonstrations by some of Atlanta’s most talented chefs to taste local and seasonal ingredients while learning from the masters. 

The EAV Farmers Market is open Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. (closing on July 4), April through November, or shop online at ShopCFMATL.org and pick up your purchases on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. The market is located across the street from the Midway Pub in East Atlanta, where park at the lot behind the pub and street parking is available on Stokeswood Avenue and throughout the neighborhood. It is accessible via the No. 9, No. 34, No. 4, and No.107 MARTA bus lines.

FREEDOM FARMERS MARKET

You can shop year-round at Freedom Farmers Market. A small group of Georgia farmers formed this market to bring local, sustainably grown food to intown Atlanta neighborhoods. Just steps from Freedom Park at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, the market offers a wide range of organic products from fresh produce and dairy to grass-fed meats and handmade pasta and preserves. Grab a coffee and breakfast pastries while browsing the market, enjoying live music.

You can reach the market by walking or biking the paths and bike trails that stretch from near Downtown to Little Five Points/Candler Park, via the No. 6 and No. 16 MARTA bus lines, or driving. 

GRANT PARK FARMERS MARKET

Grant Park Farmers Market takes place in Grant Park and right outside Zoo Atlanta. This popular Atlanta farmers market features weekly celebrity chef demonstrations from top chefs in the South, plenty of locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats, artisanal foods, and other vendors selling locally made jams and pickled produce. You’ll find plenty of seating and picnic areas so you can relax and enjoy the morning. 

Grant Park Farmers Market is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April through December in the heart of Grant Park adjacent to Zoo Atlanta. Free street parking is available on Cherokee Avenue and throughout the neighborhood. Shop online at ShopCFMATL.org and pick up your purchases curbside the following week in the community of your choice: Ponce City Market (Tuesdays), Decatur (Wednesdays), Oakhurst at Sceptre Brewing (Wednesdays), and East Atlanta Village Farmers Market lot (Thursdays).

MORNINGSIDE FARMERS MARKET

Morningside Farmers Market is the first farmers market in Atlanta that requires all produce to be certified organic and sold only by the farmers who are at the market — no re-sellers. Shop the organic-only stands featuring soups, cookies and pastries, heirloom garlic, wild plums, and cold-pressed juices year-round. Pick up local vegetables, fruits and mushrooms, and locally produced meats raised on 100% organic GMO-free feed, and seasonal organic flower bouquets and artisan crafts. And there are always chef demonstrations, too.

Morningside Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. year-round. The market is located across from Alon’s Bakery and next door to Morningside Kitchen restaurant in the Virginia Highland neighborhood. Free parking is available in the Morningside Village plaza parking lot across the street.

PEACHTREE CENTER GREEN MARKET

Nestled downtown is a lunchtime farmers market. Peachtree Center is a city-within-a-city, featuring office space, over 50 restaurants, retail shops, and three hotels interconnected by a unique series of skywalks that create an authentic, urban experience. The Green Market features more than a dozen vendors selling local produce, breads, juice, and more. The market offers a unique place for workers and residents to enjoy a fresh, healthy lunch each Thursday. Shoppers can fill their bags with produce, eggs, honey, cookies, salsa, jams, and more to take home.

The Green Market is usually open Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April through October. Currently, the market is virtual with shopping online. Parking is available in the 161 Peachtree Center Avenue Garage and the International Garage. 

PEACHTREE ROAD FARMERS MARKET

Peachtree Road Farmers Market is the largest producer-only metro Atlanta farmers market in the state. You can source your certified naturally grown or certified organic produce, dairy, and meats directly from the farmers who grew, raised, or made the prepared foods, ensuring fair prices for both the vendors and the consumer.

Peachtree Road Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon March through September and from 9 a.m. to noon October through December at the Cathedral of St. Philip. Limited onsite parking is available. Pre-orders are encouraged. 

PIEDMONT PARK GREEN MARKET

In the heart of Piedmont Park, you’ll find the Green Market, an open-air market offering regionally grown produce, farm-fresh meats, artisan cheeses, and baked goods, as well as coffees, teas, and fresh-cut flowers for sale. The Green Market also features fresh local food, artisan goods, live music, chef demonstrations, and a kid-friendly activity area. 

The Green Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March through November and is temporarily operating behind Park Tavern in the parking lot at the corner of 10th and Monroe. Preorders and pick up are encouraged and available.

THE MUNICIPLE MARKET

Referred to as Sweet Auburn Curb Market by locals, The Municipal Market in Sweet Auburn was founded in 1918 and offers an exotic array of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, fish, and baked goods. This urban farmers market houses 30 local businesses, is home to a cooking school and some of the city’s most popular eateries.

The Municipal Market is open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 209 Edgewood Avenue, SE, at the intersection of Jesse Hill Jr. Drive, in downtown Atlanta. The market offers one hour of free parking with validation. It’s also accessible from MARTA, exit MARTA at the GSU station, and walk along Jesse Hill Jr. Drive toward Grady Hospital. The market is approximately five blocks away at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue.

The market is open Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. April through November in front of the Decatur First Baptist Church on the corner of Clairemont Avenue and Commerce Drive. Occasionally, the market is held next to the lawn in the “Pecan Grove.” Parking is available in the church parking lot on Clairemont Avenue, and the parking deck next to the church at Commerce Drive is available for free starting at 4:30 p.m.

DEKALB FARMERS MARKET

The DeKalb Farmers Market focuses on global fare, proudly displaying the flags of nearly 200 different countries represented by vendors inside its market. The community-based, volunteer-run East Point Farmers Market is a unique experience in Downtown, offering local and sustainable produce, artisan edibles, and other curiosities all year long.  Each week you can find a variety of seasonal produce, fresh breads, locally roasted coffee, baked goods, organic granola, and nut mixes, hot prepared meals, honey, and much more. 

East Point Farmers Market is open Wednesdays from 4 to 7  p.m. at the Downtown “Commons” Area in East Point across from city hall and only a short walk from MARTA. Preorders can be made by contacting the vendors directly. 

MARIETTA SQUARE FARMERS MARKET

The Marietta Square Farmers Market features an average of 54 vendors each week. Besides heirloom tomatoes, fruits, and vegetables that are rarely, if ever, available from the grocery store, you’ll find staples such as potatoes, onions, tomatoes, squash, and beans. The Marietta Square Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon year-round, now offering online shopping. The market is located one block north of the Marietta Square in downtown Marietta, Georgia. Take I-75, exit #265, 1.5 miles west on Route 120 Loop/North Marietta Parkway.Turn left onto Church Street toward Historic Marietta Square. Turn right onto Mill St. the market is located at 41 Mill St.

SANDY SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET

The Sandy Springs Farmers Market is a producer-only market featuring locally grown and just-harvested produce, eggs and meats, artisan cheeses, breads, jams, and plenty of other delicious prepared foods. The Sandy Springs Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon April through November at the new City Springs site. The city of Sandy Springs provides free parking to market patrons until 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Free parking is offered at the lot adjacent to and south of the market (Blue Stone Road and Hilderbrand Drive) and the parking deck under the performing arts center (enter from Mount Vernon Highway by Chase Bank).

SERENBE FARMERS MARKET
