This show explores “What is freedom?” Wallace journeys thru Douglass’s life from slavery, until he becomes free by learning to read. Yet in the 21st century in many ways Darius exposes the lack of freedom & the continuing perpetuation of slavery mentality, emotionally, physically & religiously. In this interactive show audiences will witness Darius transform into several characters through song, speeches, monologues & spoken word. Darius’s hope is that audiences will be inspired by Douglass’s ability to overcome adversity thru the power & inspiration of the written & spoken word. With this power we can transform ourselves & the world around us & know that true freedom is an inside job.
