Flamenco is synonymous with Spanish culture.
Yet, since its inception, theorists have sidelined the fundamental contribution of Afro-Andalusians to this art form.
Gurumbé is a a documentary film by Miguel Ángel Rosales, and it traces the connections between African culture, the New World, and Flamenco in Spain.
Dancer Yinka Esi Graves, who is featured in the film, will participate in a brief discussion with audience members after the screening.
