Older forests store significant amounts of carbon, and their benefits are different than those of planting new trees. “Proforestation”, the decision to leave intact forests standing, is essential to our efforts to protect the climate, people, and the diversity of living things. Dr. Sarah Adloo leads an organization that works to build a national network of protected, publicly-accessible current and future old-growth forests, including multiple sites across Atlanta.

About the Speaker: Dr. Sarah Adloo, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of the Old-Growth Forest Network, an organization creating a network of protected old-growth and future old-growth forests across the United States.
