Ruth is a dedicated Holocaust speaker addressing tolerance, prejudice, and discrimination. As a young girl ages 4 to 7, she was a hidden child with her family in southern France during World War II. She and her family were sheltered by local villagers, and she spent time in a small Catholic convent to avoid capture by both the Vichy French Police and the Gestapo. Through resourcefulness and unusually good fortune, she and her parents survived and returned to Paris after. Her childhood memoir, ”Your Name Is Renee”; was published by the Oxford University Press. Further, Ruth’s story was developed by David & Jenny Heilter-Klevans into a musical play, “HIDDEN,” which debuted in May 2023.
