Each December, the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl kicks off the college football bowl season in Atlanta with the champions of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) pitted against the champions of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, owns and operates the bowl game and has partnered with the Atlanta Falcons and 100 Black Men of Atlanta to present this season opening bowl game in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The “100” produce many of the game’s ancillary community events – continuing their tradition of providing support and improving the quality of life for African Americans, in the Atlanta community.
The Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl is a memorable event for all that attend, as two of the finest historically black college football teams battle for victory on the gridiron. This bowl game is special to many not only because of the action on the field, but also because of the benefits and exposure it provides each participating school and corresponding conferences. Celebrating the traditions, legacy and values of HBCUs along with the winning combination of action-packed football and the economic impact for the city of Atlanta makes attending the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl a must for any sports fan.
