Job Description
Position: Coordinator, Sales
Department: Sales
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Position Reports to: Vice President, Sales; Citywide Sales Executive; National Sales Manager
General Description
The sales coordinator is responsible for supporting sales managers, coordinating sales activities, and maintaining relationships with clients and members in an effort to sell, service and market Atlanta & Georgia as a premier destination for group travel and meetings.
Responsibilities (including, but are not limited to the following)
Sales & Services
- Answer incoming sales calls and route to appropriate resource
- Promote and redirect callers to online request for proposal system
- Maintain phone lines for assigned managers as directed
- Maintain appointment and/or travel schedule for assigned managers
- Assist with maintaining programs, projects and expenses according to ACVB guidelines
- Assist with lead catching duties
- Qualify leads to include identification of group schedule, room night needs and convention center space
- Send leads to hotels and convention center, execute appropriate follow-up
- Assist with preparing bid presentations for destination/site selection committee
- Assist with coordinating customer site inspections
- Distribute definite booking and lost information to all parties involved in the lead process
- Generate sales kits and bid books
Other Duties
- Maintain a positive working relationship with ACVB members
- Maintain current knowledge of member hotels (inventory), venues, restaurants, attractions, etc.
- Attend ACVB, member, and hospitality related events as directed
- Provide additional support to department projects and related ACVB programs as directed
- Stay up to date with hospitality industry trends
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent technology-based skillset to include knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.) and CRMs
- General sales knowledge
- General knowledge of Atlanta’s hospitality industry

Education & Work Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales support role, hospitality experience preferred (internships included)
Additional Information
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday (minimal early mornings, late evenings and weekend work)
- Work Environment: Standard, temperature-controlled office environment with moderate office noise level
- During offsite meetings, events and site visits, work environment changes depending on location: hotel, restaurant, convention facilities, airplane, and related travel and event venues
- Work Location: This is a full-time on-site position located in the Atlanta office four days a week, and one remote working day a week
