Hand and Rod 101 (18+)

Hand & Rod Puppetry 101 is a multi-session (Sept 28, Oct 5, 12, and 19) introductory course designed to introduce the fundamental ideas and techniques behind hand and rod puppetry. Open to all experience levels, including those with no prior puppetry or performance experience, Hand & Rod Puppetry 101 introduces the foundational techniques behind hand and rod puppetry, with a focus on the skills and vocabulary used in our work. It lays the groundwork for how to approach puppet animation, performance, and ensemble puppetry.
Throughout the class, students engage in exercises and explorations that build practical skills for puppet performance.
