Join us for MAKE @ MODA: Handmade Altars, a hands-on workshop exploring the art and design of altars. Altars have been part of art and design across cultures for centuries. People have used them to honor others, preserve memories, express beliefs, and tell stories. Their design often brings together meaningful objects and imagery to create a space with purpose.
During the workshop, you’ll design and build your own small handmade altar. We’ll explore how color, symbolism, composition, and layering can help communicate an idea. You’ll work with paper, collage materials, flowers, found objects, and decorative elements to bring your design to life.
