Flowers weren’t just beautiful to the ancient Greeks—they were filled with meaning and myth. The anemone plant was said to spring from the tears of Aphrodite, the narcissus flower tells the story of a man who fell in love with his reflection, and the cypress tree is tied to Artemis, the goddess of hunt and moon. In honor of Mother’s Day, come explore the floral myths connected to Greek goddesses and heroes in the Greek and Roman galleries and make a myth-inspired paper flower arrangement or wearable flower craft to give to someone special.
Sunday FUNday is a free drop-in program for all families, including admission to the museum. Supplies available on a first come first serve basis.
