Welcome to Atlanta Meta World

Welcome to Atlanta Meta World

Step out of the box and into the metaverse – Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau’s first-of-its-kind virtual reality (VR) destination marketing experience. This virtual world creates a space for virtual tourism, allowing users to explore computer-generated environments and venues while connecting and socializing with others.

We’re thrilled to officially invite and welcome you to discover Atlanta Meta World. This experience is focused solely on you, whether you’re a meeting planner exploring sites or an attendee preparing for an upcoming event.

What is it?

Atlanta Meta World is a virtual platform that allows for a more immersive experience than a traditional website, encouraging and enabling more significant levels of engagement. Realistic visual representations of the as-built environment will allow meeting planners to connect with real-world businesses in a unique city-based experience offering.

Why is it important?

Meeting planners benefit from understanding the internal layout of facilities, traffic flow and the relative positioning of venues in context to hotels, convention centers, dining and entertainment options for their attendees. The vision of Atlanta Meta World is to allow planners to see this from a new perspective and virtually explore the city both from the ground and air. When budgets or timing limit an in-person site visit, Atlanta Meta World allows meeting planners to explore Atlanta on a different level.

How does it work?

Once a planner chooses an avatar, they’ll enter Atlanta Meta World at Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau’s visitor information center in Centennial Olympic Park. From there, planners can explore the 22-acre greenspace that’s nestled in the heart of Atlanta’s walkable convention and lively entertainment district. This gives planners the ability to fully immerse themselves in and to conveniently discover various points of interest in Atlanta Meta World. Planners will even have the ability to directly interact with partners, venue representatives and team members from Discover Atlanta to discuss and converse in real-time, all from the comfort of your computer.

What’s next?

In the future, this unique virtual experience could be designed to provide meeting planners with critical information such as date availability, capacity and pricing, pulled from the DMO’s customer relationship management (CRM) integration as they move from location to location.  Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau has plans to build out the Georgia World Congress Center and has already seen interest from several hotels and event venues to build out their space in the metaverse.
