Job Description
Position: National Sales Manager
Department: Sales
Exemption Status: Exempt
Position Reports to: Vice President, Sales
General Description
The national sales manager is responsible for the selling and marketing of Atlanta & Georgia as a premier
destination for group meetings utilizing 251-1200 rooms on peak night.
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)
Sales
- Prospect potential meeting business: telemarketing, regularly trace existing accounts for future solicitation and utilize various resources to include ACVB satellite sales reps, Atlanta based influencers of association and corporate meetings, third party facilities and hotels
- Qualify leads to include identification of group schedule
- Send leads to hotels and execute appropriate follow-up
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, hotels, and related vendors regarding changes, updates, decision dates, etc.
- Serve as the intermediary and/or make bid presentations for destination/site selection committee
- Coordinate and conduct site inspections
- Distribute definite booking information to all parties involved in the lead process
- Represent ACVB at trade shows and related events as directed (coordinating the participation of Atlanta hospitality industry partners, set-up/breakdown of trade show booth, etc.)
- Make regular sales calls to prospective and existing customers
General Administration & Management
- Manage programs, projects and expenses according to ACVB guidelines
- Supervision of assigned administrative assistant to include coaching, mentoring and performance management
Other Related ACVB Activities
- Maintain a positive working relationship with ACVB members
- Document all account details and activity in CRM
- Maintain current knowledge of member hotels (inventory), venues, restaurants and attractions
- Attend ACVB, member, and hospitality related events as directed
- Maintain active participation with assigned professional organizations
- Provide additional support to department projects and related ACVB programs as directed
- Stay up-to-date with hospitality industry trends
Qualifications
- Education
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; college degree strongly preferred
- Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality related sales
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong sense of time management with the ability to take initiative, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRMs
- General knowledge of Atlanta’s hospitality industry with an emphasis on the hotel inventory in the Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead areas

Additional Information
Work hours
- Monday – Friday (moderate early morning, late evening, and weekend work)
Work environment
- Standard, temperature-controlled office environment with moderate, office noise level
- During site visits work environment changes depending on location: hotel, restaurant, convention facilities, airplane, and related travel and event venues

- Position requires significant amount of walking/standing during site visits, trade shows and related sales activity
