Led by guest conductor Henry Cheng, Heroes Among Us: A Musical Tribute offers a powerful tribute to the spirit of heroism around the world. Praised for his “ravishing and simply gorgeous” performances in The Washington Post, this concert features pianist David Fung, who has been widely recognized for interpretations that are elegant and refined, yet intensely poetic and uncommonly expressive. This concert opens with Valerie Coleman’s Seven O’Clock Shout – a piece commissioned by The Philadelphia Orchestra to honor the sacrifice of frontline workers during COVID.
