Atlanta is about to get a serious dose of motorsports adrenaline.
On Aug. 1, Red Bull Showrun Atlanta presented by Ford Racing will bring the power of Formula 1 to the streets of Summerhill, transforming Hank Aaron Drive and Fulton Street into a high-speed stage for championship-winning race cars, professional drivers and precision driving demonstrations.

What Is Red Bull Showrun Atlanta?
Think of it as Formula 1 coming to the streets of Atlanta—but without the pressure of a race weekend.
Red Bull Showrun Atlanta is a live motorsports demonstration that puts professional drivers and powerful race cars directly in front of fans. Rather than competing for position, drivers will showcase the speed, power and precision of their vehicles through demonstrations designed to bring the spectacle of motorsports to the city.
The Aug. 1 event is free and open to all ages, making it an easy addition to a weekend in Atlanta for longtime F1 fans, motorsports enthusiasts and anyone who simply wants to witness the roar of a Formula 1 car up close.
But, the Red Bull Atlanta takeover starts earlier than Aug. 1.

It’s an opportunity to see the machinery up close, grab photos and videos and get a preview of the horsepower headed for Atlanta’s streets a few days later.

What to Know Before You Go
It’s free
One of the biggest draws: Red Bull Showrun Atlanta is free and open to the public.
Arrive early
This is a street-based event in a busy Atlanta neighborhood, so give yourself plenty of time to get there, find your viewing area and settle in before the cars hit the streets.
Plan around traffic and street closures
Because Hank Aaron Drive and surrounding streets will be used for the event, expect transportation impacts around Summerhill. The city of Atlanta has listed the event area as including Hank Aaron Drive from Fulton Street toward Georgia Avenue, with additional surrounding closures.
Public transportation may be the easiest option, particularly as road closures and event-related traffic affect the neighborhood. Check MARTA and city updates before leaving home for the latest information.
Bring your camera — and protect your ears
A Formula 1 car is not exactly subtle.
If you’re bringing children or anyone sensitive to loud noises, consider bringing hearing protection. And keep your phone ready: the combination of Atlanta’s skyline, Summerhill streets and Formula 1 machinery should make for some memorable photos and videos.
Make a Weekend of It
The Red Bull Showrun lands in Summerhill, one of Atlanta’s neighborhoods where historic landmarks, restaurants, breweries, cultural attractions and new development meet.
Start with the Wednesday car fire-up at New Realm, spend Friday evening in Little Five Points for the Wish Block Party, then make Summerhill your destination Saturday for the Showrun.
