Ready for a slimy adventure? The Sloomoo Institute Atlanta is dedicated to the science of slime and offers a fun and interactive experience for all ages. Mix and play with different types of slime at the slime bar. Learn about the history of slime and how it has evolved over the years. Take Instagram-worthy photos with giant bubbles, neon lights and a confetti dome. There’s also a slime-themed lounge where you can relax and enjoy the slime-themed décor.

Atlanta History Center

The Atlanta History Center in Buckhead is a 33-acre history museum and research center that chronicles the history of the city of Atlanta and state of Georgia. It is home to the Swan House, the Smith Family Farm and the Kenan Research Center. It is where you can see the 49-foot-tall, 10,000-pound cyclorama, which depicts the Civil War’s Battle of Atlanta.

The Atlanta History Center hosts educational programs and special events throughout the year, and its research library is one of the largest archives in the Southeast. Visitors to the center can explore the city’s past and present through interactive exhibits and programs, and engage with artifacts, objects and documents that tell the stories of the people, places and events that have shaped the city and state.

Governor’s Mansion

The Governor’s Mansion is the official home of the governor of the state of Georgia. Situated on 18-acres in the Tuxedo Park neighborhood of Buckhead Atlanta, this Greek Revival-style home boasts three floors and 30 rooms. The mansion is open to the public for tours and events throughout the year.

Chastain Arts Center

With a history dating back to 1968, Chastain Arts Center is a long-established leader in the Atlanta arts community.  Housed in early 20th-century historic buildings, the center offers year-round classes, exhibits, local artwork, and it lures visitors with its gift shop selling unique, handmade items.

Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA) is dedicated to collecting and exhibiting contemporary art by Georgia artists. Its mission is to preserve and promote the work of Georgia artists, with a focus on supporting emerging artists.

The museum’s permanent collection includes more than 1,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs and mixed media pieces. The museum also hosts rotating exhibitions throughout the year. In addition, MOCA GA offers educational programs such as artist talks and workshops to engage visitors with the art and the artists.

Chastain Memorial Park

Boasting more than 260 acres, Chastain Memorial Park is Atlanta’s largest city park. The park beckons visitors and locals alike with an array of excellent attractions on its 268 acres, including a swimming pool, an arts center, tennis courts, gymnasium, walking trails, playgrounds, softball diamonds, a golf course, and even a horse park — perfect for athletic types and Sunday morning strollers alike. Chastain Memorial Park is also home to the Chastain Arts Center and Cadence Bank Amphitheatre.

PATH400 Greenway Trail

The Buckhead PATH400 Greenway Trail is a 5.2-mile-long multiuse trail that runs alongside Georgia Highway 400, providing a safe and convenient space for cyclists, runners and walkers. Along the way, the PATH400 Greenway Trail provides access to several parks, shopping centers and restaurants, making it a great way to explore the Buckhead neighborhood. The trail also features public art installations and educational signs, providing visitors with information about the local environment and history.

The Buckhead PATH400 Greenway Trail will eventually join with the Atlanta BeltLine, which runs through several Atlanta neighborhoods.

Bobby Jones Golf Course

Bobby Jones Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course, which is open to the public. The course is known for its challenging layout and has been a popular destination for golfers since its opening in 1932. With a variety of tee lengths, the course can be played by golfers of all skill levels. The course is also home to the Bobby Jones Golf Center, which offers a driving range, miniature golf course and private lessons from PGA professionals.

Bitsy Grant Tennis Center

The Bitsy Grant Tennis Center has been a popular spot for Buckhead residents to play tennis for many years. It is considered the showplace for tennis in the Southeast with a total of 28 courts including 13 clay, 12 hard and three platform tennis courts. The center also has a full-service pro shop and hosts a variety of tournaments and leagues throughout the year. The center is open seven days a week, and admission is free.
