Passionate Soccer Fans
Atlanta is a Soccer City

The Proudest Fans
Atlanta United has led MLS in attendance every year since its debut. We’re talking more than 50,000 fans per game, with some matches drawing more than 70,000 to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The fan culture is real — drums, chants, flags, tailgates. It’s loud, diverse and electric.
Atlanta’s international population has helped fuel soccer’s growth. Communities from Latin America, Africa and beyond have brought their passion for fútbol with them, and they turn out in large numbers for matches.
Inside the Stadium
10 reasons why Mercedes-Benz Stadium is an experience on its own:
A Stadium that Knows Soccer
Mercedes-Benz Stadium was constructed as a soccer-specific stadium and routinely hosts 20-25
soccer matches per year. It is one of the only FIFA World Cup™ venues in the U.S. that is soccer
specific.
World’s Largest Halo Board
The stadium boasts a 360-degree, 63,000-square-foot HD video board — the largest of its kind — circling the roof like a halo. It’s a showstopper for fans at every event.
Retractable Roof Inspired by the Oculus
The roof is made of eight triangular panels that open and close like a camera shutter or oculus. It takes about 12 minutes to open or close, and it’s one of the most complex stadium roofs in the world.
Fan-First Affordable Concessions
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is famous for its fan-friendly food prices, offering items like $2 hot dogs and $5 beer — way below average stadium pricing.
LEED Platinum Certified
It’s the first professional sports stadium in the U.S. to earn LEED Platinum status. It has 4,000 solar panels, a rainwater capture system and electric vehicle charging stations.
The Window to the City
A massive floor-to-ceiling glass wall faces downtown Atlanta, giving visitors a stunning view of the skyline while watching a game or concert.
Art Collection with Atlanta Roots
The stadium houses more than 180 pieces of art, including large-scale works by local and national Black artists, and even a 73-foot-tall falcon sculpture out front — the largest bird sculpture in the world.
Smart Stadium Technology
With more than 1,800 wireless access points and state-of-the-art mobile connectivity, the stadium is one of the most technologically advanced in the country.
Host of Major Global Events
Mercedes-Benz Stadium has already hosted Super Bowl LIII, the College Football Playoff National Championship, the MLS All-Star Game, and it’s one of the venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup — putting Atlanta on the global sports stage.
