Atlanta Comedy Theater Underground
This upscale comedy club offers a place for a variety of comedians coming to town — big names like Kenan Thompson, Cedric the Entertainer and Andrew Schultz. The shows won’t disappoint with a night of laughter perfect for a group of friends to enjoy. Before you attend the show in Downtown Atlanta, dine at one of the many restaurants in the area. Choices range from fast-casual to more formal.

Dad’s Garage Theatre

Located in Old Fourth Ward, Dad’s Garage Theatre is a nonprofit theater company offering shows and classes. Joe’s Coffeehouse East Atlanta Village
A coffee shop might be an unlikely place to find comedy, but don’t let that stop you from checking it out. Laugh and Caff’s Comedy Showcase happens on Mondays from 5-7 p.m. giving Atlanta comedians a stage for trying out their latest jokes.

Laughing Skull Lounge

Located in the Vortex Midtown, Laughing Skull Lounge has been providing a space for comedy since 2010. Each show features some of Atlanta’s funniest comedians doing their best 10 minutes every Thursday through Sunday. Laughing Skull sponsors an open mic option for comedians wanting to try out their skills. It happens every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. You can gain your own experience by taking the six-week comedy class that has a graduation show at the end.

The Punchline
The Punchline can be your next date spot with comedy shows happening every weekend. It’s the longest running comedy club in Atlanta with a variety of performers — everyone from big names to up-and-coming stars. The comedy club is located right next to Landmark Diner, so you can enjoy delicious food before enjoying the show.

Sketchworks Comedy
Sketchworks Comedy highlights the importance of sketch comedy, focused on developing original scenes and scenarios that are written and rehearsed before being performed. The shows feature professional actors, writers and filmmakers. Sketchworks also presents shows with kids and teens performing. People of all ages can take classes with one-on-one coaching available.

Smith’s Olde Bar
While this old favorite is known for having incredible live music performances every night of the week, it’s also a great spot for some comedy. There is Open Mic Comedy on Wednesdays. Sign up starts at 7:30 p.m. with comedy starting at 8 p.m.

Uptown Comedy Corner
You never know what you’ll be laughing at next at Uptown Comedy Center. With shows seven days a week, there is a wide variety of performances. There also are burgers, wings and salads to enjoy with the show. Open mic nights are Sundays at 6 p.m., Mondays at 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 4 p.m.

Whole World Improv Theatre
Whole World Improv Theatre has been a staple in the city since 1994. Located in Midtown, Whole World Improv aims to connect people of all ages through joy and laughter. It’s easy to accomplish with four shows a week that emphasize theatrical adventure. Want to get in on the action? Whole World Improv Theatre offers classes for people of all experience and age levels. Adults can take a one-day workshop or a 10-week long program. Kids and teens can take classes ranging from beginner to “improvius” prime.
