Warm weather is here and we all want to be sipping something cold on a patio — and let’s be honest, Atlanta’s mild weather means patio season stretches far beyond just a few fleeting months. In this city, there’s no shortage of spots to soak up fresh air, flowers in bloom and, yes, frozen margaritas. We rounded up our favorite bars and restaurants with standout outdoor spaces.
7th House

Tucked into the same lot as Sammy’s, 7th House feels like a hidden gem, especially when you discover its low-key patio. Come to the astrology-inspired bar Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. for “power hour,” featuring $5 espresso martini shots, $1.50 oysters and even caviar bumps. On Wednesdays, it’s steak frites and a martini for $40. It’s indulgent and unpretentious, and one place you’ll want to keep on your regular rotation for patio season.

a mano

In the Old Fourth Ward, not far from Ponce City Market, a mano’s patio feels like a little escape from the city. Wrapped in vines and flowers, the space offers a sense of privacy that makes you forget you’re sitting streetside. It’s an ideal setting for handmade pastas, a glass of wine and a long, relaxed meal that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle.

The Chastain

Steps from Chastain Park, The Chastain’s airy patio works for just about any occasion, whether it’s morning coffee, weekend brunch, cocktails or date night. Stop in for a light and refreshing ginger margarita (available at brunch and dinner) or a good-for-you Hermes Cornaline with carrot, ginger, turmeric and gin. If a lush, leisurely evening sounds even better, opt for the multi-course tasting menu plus wine pairings, surrounded by greenery.

Elektra

Ride the elevator up at the Forth Hotel and step into a Mediterranean escape overlooking the members-only pool. Elektra’s patio feels like a mini vacation, with breezy seating and sundrenched views. The menu is fresh and shareable (pita, hummus, vibrant dips, hot and cold mezze, and crisp salads) and pairs well with easy-drinking wines and bright, refreshing cocktails like the Coastal Spritz or the Ruby Nights, which is made with beet-infused gin, sumac and mint. This is an exquisite spot to unwind and pretend, at least for an hour or two, that you’re in Greece or Italy.

El Ponce

El Ponce’s refreshed patio (thanks in part to a Beltline grant) is more beautiful than ever and was completed just in time for brunch season – and the upcoming World Cup. The new brunch menu pairs flawlessly with sunshine. Happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. daily makes an afternoon visit even more tempting, with $7 cocktails and $3 snacks available. The beloved Mexican spot is festive, colorful and made for lingering with friends over margaritas with a salted rim.

Fellini’s Candler Park
With several locations around the city, Fellini’s is always a solid choice, but the Candler Park outpost might just be our favorite. The patio is lively and spacious, perfect for digging into oversized slices or splitting a classic pizza and salad with friends. Afterward, take a short stroll over to Gigi’s for a nightcap and something sweet to round out the night.
If you are in the Buckhead area, Fellini’s on Howell Mill Road also has a great patio.

Larakin

This Midtown favorite may have a small indoor footprint, but the real draw is its sprawling raised deck packed with tables, umbrellas and good vibes. Pop on over from the park for tinned fish, crackers, olives and wines by the glass (or the bottle). There’s always something happening here, whether it’s cheering on your favorite club team or watching Artemis II splashdown safely. This is the quintessential patio for pups, babies and everyone in between, and gets extra points for being in a highly walkable area.

Madeira Park
Rain or shine, Madeira Park has you covered, literally. This Highland Avenue patio is equipped for all weather, making it a reliable go-to no matter the forecast. Keep it simple with a glass of sparkling wine and a side of crispy fries and aioli, then wander next door to Big Softie for ice cream and more outdoor seating overlooking the street. It’s easy, breezy and great for people watching.

Patria Cocina

This spot gives you some of the best Mexican dishes in the city. Patria Cocina is your go-to neighborhood hangout in Grant Park: Think frozen margaritas, sizzling fajitas, and chips and guac on repeat under the shade of big umbrellas.

Sammy’s

This charming little sandwich spot in Adair Park just recently celebrated its one year anniversary and boy has it made a mark – it’s already a neighborhood staple. Inside, sunlight pours through the windows, but when the weather’s right, the patio is where you want to be. If you’re lucky, they’ll have the smoker going, adding a mouthwatering aroma to your meal. Casual and welcoming, this is the spot to return to again and again for huge sandwiches and specialty coffee. Pro tip: Add one of their house-made syrups, like the strawberry or miso-caramel, to your drink.

Side Saddle

This Boulevard Heights darling feels like a party waiting to happen, especially now that the BeltLine’s Southside Trail expansion has made it even more accessible. The bar and restaurant regularly hosts yoga classes, movie nights, trivia and soccer watch parties, so there’s always a reason to swing by. Wine lovers will feel right at home here, but there’s something for everyone: draft beer, classic cocktails and zero-proof options. Regulars swear by the burger and snackable dips like eggplant or pimento cheese, served with crackers, bread and crudite.

Staplehouse
Few patios in Atlanta feel as magical as the one at Staplehouse. With a covered area and a sprawling, rustic backyard filled with tables, you’ll want to stay all day. Order a bottle of wine, grab a pizza or seasonal salad and let time slow down a bit. This patio experience is hard to beat, whether you’re catching up with friends, hanging with your dog or just soaking up some Vitamin D and feeling the sun on your skin.
