It starts with “B” and rhymes with lunch. We know it as brunch, and Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood offers several choices of restaurants that serve that magical meal that’s not quite breakfast and not quite lunch, but which is a perfect weekend treat.
5Church Buckhead
Enjoy brunch at 5Church Buckhead on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Perhaps start with sushi tots or baked oysters. Then, move on, maybe, to biscuits and gravy or quiche Lorraine. Oh my, there’s also banana French toast and a French omelet. Have a mimosa while you decide.

Carmel
Weekend brunch at Carmel, located in Buckhead Village, begins with a brioche doughnut or a fruit parfait. Next comes a Bibb salad or grilled shrimp then it’s on to the main course where a few choices include a crispy fish sandwich, shrimp and grits, a smash burger or a whole lobster. Maybe try the seared milk cake for dessert.

Chido + Padre’s
Chido & Padre’s invites you to a brunch fiesta every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Enjoy brunch dishes like breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, chorizo hash, huevos rancheros and avocado toast

Fado Irish Pub
Weekends at this Irish pub are all about brunch (Saturday and Sunday until 3 p.m.) and bottomless mimosas. One choice is the classic Irish breakfast with two eggs, Irish sausages, rashers, black & white pudding, mushrooms, tomatoes and sourdough toast. The Irish breakfast sandwich comes with Irish sausage, rashers, fried egg on sourdough and is brunch potatoes.

Le Bilboquet
On Sundays until 2:45 p.m., Le Bilboquet serves brunch. Located in the center of Buckhead Village, the French bistro brings a slice of Parisian café culture to the neighborhood — and to you. Specialties include omelets, crepes and brioche French toast. There are soups, salads and a cheese board. Among the salads are Cobb and Nicoise. Chicken, salmon, mussels and beef populate the entree menu. Sides include fries, mushrooms and string beans.

Postino Buckhead
Brunch at Postino Buckhead starts with table bites (hot doughnut tots, seeded avocado toast and French toast). Main dish offerings are a focaccia stack, a meatball shackshouka and and bowls with eggs, bacon or saugage and tots. Wet your whistle with an espresso martini, Bloody Mary or bellini.

South City Kitchen Buckhead
Enjoy brunch at South City Kitchen Buckhead with malted buttermilk waffles topped with pure Vermont maple syrup or brisket Benedict. Fish and seafood choices include shrimp and March Hen Mill grits and grilled sallmon.

The Southern Gentleman
