“They’re creepy and they’re kooky. Mysterious and spooky. They’re all together ooky.” While those lyrics were written for television’s “Adams Family,” they also are pretty descriptive of the two-day Halloween celebration at Little Five Points, especially the iconic parade.

For decades, Little Five Points has been Atlanta’s — choose whatever word you want — hippie, alternative, eclectic, countercultural, bohemian — neighborhood and the Oct. 18-19 Halloween celebration reflects that. The parade is filled with floats, groups, people, bands, and each one is weirder, wilder and scarier than the next.
The parade has been a Halloween tradition since the 1970s and it’s a place where “everyone can come and be themselves,” said Kelly Stocks, president of the Little 5 Points Cultural District. “It’s a time for Little Five Points to shine and again be known for being accepting of everyone. Halloween is when we all get together to shine.”
But don’t take our word for it. Here are 10 reasons why the L5P Halloween Festival and Parade will be something you won’t see anywhere else — and will never forget.
Goblin-Packed Ghost Tours
Are they real or folklore? You decide, but honestly, there have been sightings of Lady Sintana from the House of Ravenwood (near Starbucks) and maybe some at 7 Stages Theatre and the Wrecking Bar. The only way to find out is to take the tour, which is offered three times on both days. of the festival. Other haunted venues include the Star Bar, Variety Playhouse and the Little Five Points Center for Arts and Community (aka the Community Center).
Monster Sticker Hunt

Children from the Little Arts School are making stickers that will be handed out at 15 stores on Saturday. A map at the L5P Merch Booth will help with the hunt.
HOWLeen in Davis Plaza
Dress your pet up and Bellows Film Lab will take pictures. If your pet needs help posing (maybe it feels a bit silly in their costume?), then treats from Big Daddy Biscuits and Pet Table may help. The portraits also free.
Bands Everywhere
From Euclid Yard to the Community Center to the Star Bar (on Sunday only) there will be nonstop music. Star Bar’s entertainment tends to be more country but there will be a variety — everything from rockabilly to alternative music favored by the younger crowd along the streets and stages. Among those performing are Pharmacy, Plastique, Shake Awake and Ocean Cater.

Deep South Wrestling

Want a good way to entertain while the bands are taking a break — how about wrestling? Enjoy the local wrestlers wearing monster costumes, perfecting body slams, duplexes and drop kicks in the Euclid Yard.
Sk8ATL Skaters
Catch the Sk8ATL crew shredding at the Community Center after the parade. There will also be a skating workshop for skaters of all levels. Expect freestyle tricks, flips and tricks galore.
World-famous L5P Halloween Parade
It’s been named one of the best Halloween parades in the country by such national publications as USA Today, and we agree. Starting off the parade on Euclid Avenue will be a couple getting married (for real) and then riding in the parade in a pumpkin carriage. We’re sure Cinderella would approve.
That sets the tone right there, don’t you agree?
Among the 80 or so parade participants will be Cirque de Soleil performers and the ever-popular Seed & Feed Band. In between will be dancers, bands, performers and every creative idea for a float or costume you can imagine.

It has a new time: Noon on Oct. 19. More details here.
Buskers on Every Corner
There will be music, magic and mischief from street performers thanks to Media Res.
