Going into 2026 with big “I’m doing exactly what I want” energy? Same. This New Year’s Eve is all about you. Celebrate with your people, keep it cozy at home, head out into nature, go glam with a night out or spend the day doing all the self-care things that make you feel good.
However you choose to welcome the new year, we’ve got ideas for every vibe and personality. In Atlanta, the night can be as sparkly or as chilled out and grounded as you want it. Here’s to closing out 2025 and stepping into 2026 with intention, great food and maybe even a little extra luck.
Become One with Nature

Prefer a little fresh air and an activity that’s both kid and dog-friendly? End the year with a hike at East Palisades, Sope Creek or Sweetwater Creek, or venture farther for chilly waterfall magic at Amicalola Falls. Kids get to run, adults can breathe it all in and everyone wins. If you’re feeling gutsy, you can always get your feet wet with an outdoor cold plunge that’ll wake you right up to all the good things coming in 2026.

Fun for Families and Kiddos at Heart

Not every New Year’s Eve needs to be a late night. Atlanta has several all-ages celebrations, including early countdowns and outdoor adventures.
The Roof at Ponce City Market hosts its annual Noon Year’s Eve Celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The all-ages, family-friendly event counts down to noon (instead of midnight) and includes all-access to games with pre-purchased tickets.

Stone Mountain Park also hosts a Kids’ Early New Year’s Eve Celebration. Enjoy Stone Mountain Christmas (holiday characters, a Christmas drone and light show, and more), then join a 9 p.m. countdown with music, dancing and fireworks. It’s festive, easy and lets everyone welcome the new year without pushing bedtime. Traveling from out of town? Book a room on-site at either Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort or the Inn at Stone Mountain Park so you can hop into bed, wake up well-rested and do it all over again on Jan. 1, 2026.
Dinner and/or a Show
Capolinea

If your ideal NYE involves a great outfit and an even better plate of pasta, Capolinea is closing out the year with a four-course dinner ($145+) featuring truffle pasta, wagyu striploin and golden swordfish Milanese. Southern staples — black-eyed peas, greens and cornbread — also will be on the menu for luck, health and wealth.
The Betty

From 5 p.m. to midnight, The Betty in Buckhead will serve a four-course dinner for $125, including a midnight Champagne toast. An optional $50 wine pairing is available, and a live jazz band will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Tio Lucho’s

For something both Southern and Peruvian in Poncey Highland, James Beard Award finalist Arnaldo Castillo of Tio Lucho’s is offering a $75 multi-course NYE menu with collard greens, Gulf crab and lobster chowder, lamb shank with aji amarillo whipped potatoes and lucuma tiramisu mousse. The prix fixe includes a glass of cava, with an optional $45 wine pairing; the regular menu also will be available.
Avize
West Midtown’s Avize is hosting an exclusive New Year’s Eve tasting menu on Dec. 31 (no regular dinner service) with two seatings: an early option for those who want a beautifully crafted and relaxed final meal of the year, and a later seating that rolls straight into an after-party at Bar Avize. The multi-course menu will feature dishes like an Arpège egg, truffle risotto, lobster with mandarin, carrot and curry; and Black Opal Australian Wagyu; plus a decadent bread and butter cart. Expect a complimentary Champagne toast at midnight, with silly NYE swag and pop guns. Dinner is $195–$250 with optional pairings, and reservations are limited.
Concerts

If an arts-forward night is more your style, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform a joyful New Year’s Eve concert at Byers Theatre in Sandy Springs starting at 8 p.m.
Atlanta icon Gucci Mane returns to Symphony Hall for Mask’d & Ice’d, performing with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra and hinting at surprise guests. Doors open at 7 p.m. Want to enjoy a pre- or post-show dinner without leaving the Woodruff Arts Center complex? Elise will be open with its recently launched tasting menu as well as a la carte options.
For a more improvisational countdown, Umphrey’s McGee takes over the Tabernacle with a high-energy show mixing originals, covers and their signature mashups — an electric way to close out the year. Tickets and VIP packages are available, so plan ahead if you want to ring in midnight with one of the most enduring jam bands on the touring circuit.
Get Pampered

If you’d rather roll into 2026 feeling restored instead of rushed, book a little pampering before the ball drops. Gaia and Lavie Head Spa both have New Year’s Eve appointments open on Dec. 31 — perfect for a soothing scalp treatment that melts the stress of the season. You can also book a mani/pedi or indulgent foot massage in town, and even add on acupuncture or cupping if you want to start the new year feeling balanced from the inside out.

Dance the Night Away

If you’re looking to dress up and dance, Bar Margot at the Four Seasons in Midtown is hosting a sleek Black & White-themed bash ($95 per person), complete with a live DJ, saxophonist and two premium drinks included with your ticket. It’ll be glamorous, energetic and most definitely memorable.
For something a little more casual but just as fun, Politan Row and Jojo’s Beloved bring food hall energy and retro-glam cocktails together. The fifth annual NYE bash will include multiple DJ sets, a Champagne raffle and a complimentary midnight Champagne toast.
For a big crowd and open-air party, The Battery’s NYE Bash, presented by Xfinity, brings music, activities and one of the city’s largest communal countdowns, featuring pyrotechnics, confetti and fireworks. It’s lively, social and perfect for friend groups or solo celebrators who like mixing into a sea of people.

Moonlight at the FORTH Hotel in Old Fourth Ward is home to some of the best sunset views in the city. Visit early (walk-ins welcome from 5 to 7 p.m.) to witness the last colorful sky of the year or purchase tickets for the official NYE celebration, which will take place from 8 p.m .to 1 a.m. For $75 per person, guests can expect passed hors d’oeuvres, flowing Champagne, specialty cocktails and DJs spinning the hits. If dancing all night is your vibe, this is a can’t-miss.

For those who prefer their New Year’s Eve to feel truly luxurious, the Waldorf Astoria is ringing in 2026 with The Greatest of Them All: A Gilded Waldorf Astoria Affair. Inspired by the iconic elegance of the original Waldorf Astoria New York, this gala promises an evening of gilded glamour, timeless style and over-the-top indulgence in the heart of Buckhead. While full details are still under wraps, expect a night designed for dressing up, savoring the moment and welcoming the new year in the most opulent way possible.
Staycations and Road Trips for the Quick Escape Artist

Sometimes the best way to celebrate is to slip out of the city for a night or two. Head to the Highlands or Jackson County in North Carolina (about three hours from Atlanta) for fireplaces, mountain stillness and crisp winter air. Stays like Trailborn Highlands, Outpost Inn, High Hampton, Hotel Cashiers and Hotel Sylva offer everything from rustic-elegant charm to full-on luxury. For something closer, the Barnsley Resort in Georgia (about an hour away) delivers cozy rooms and sweeping views. Or make your way to Chattanooga for an easy, walkable weekend.

If you want to rest without any real travel at all, a staycation in Atlanta hits the sweet spot. Book a room at The Tess in Buckhead — one of the city’s chic new openings — or the even newer Phoenix Hotel in South Downtown. Order room service, take long showers, sleep in and start 2026 wrapped in a hotel robe with zero responsibilities.

Add a Little Magic to a Night In
A quiet house party or even a solo night in, can feel surprisingly special with a few intentional touches. Pick up a great bottle of bubbles from a local shop like Perrine’s, 3 Parks, Vin, Vine Fine Wine, Press Shop, Elemental Spirits Co. or Brookhaven Wines. Soberish has excellent non-alcoholic options, too. Add a simple snack spread, light your favorite candle, crack a window for some fresh air, and suddenly, home or your hotel room feels like the perfect place.
To make the night feel grander than a countdown, weave in global New Year’s traditions like the Spanish and Latin American “12 grapes at midnight” ritual — one grape for each hour on the clock sets the tone for luck in the year ahead. You can also take a suitcase walk around the block for a travel-filled year, wear red or yellow underwear (red for love, yellow for luck), toss a cup of water out the door to clear out any bad energy or start with a clean house to welcome fresh beginnings. These small things are sure to add a bit of playfulness, meaning and fun to your at-home celebration.
