There are sports-loving dads and music-loving dads, dads who love a good brew and dads who lean artistic. Dads come in all shapes and sizes. How on earth to celebrate these guys on Father’s Day? We’re here to help. The big day is June 15.
Sports Dad

The Atlanta Braves play the Colorado Rockies in Denver on Father’s Day weekend, but you might catch a game with other fans at an Atlanta Sports Bar. The June 14 Braves game begins at 4:10 p.m.; the June 15 game at 1:35 p.m. The Atlanta Dream also plays out of town on Father’s Day. Tip off is at 2 p.m. in Washington, D.C. against the Washington Mystics.
Is Dad a college football fan? If so, take him to the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame on Father’s Day. Dads receive free admission with the purchase of any regular-priced ticket. Plus, Home Depot is giving the first 100 dads who visit a $25 gift card.

Loves a Celebration Dad

The Juneteenth Atlanta Parade and Music Festival is set for June 14 and 15 in Piedmont Park. There will be two entertainment stages plus the opportunity to shop for hand-made merchandise from local and international vendors, enjoy festival food and cultural activities. The Juneteenth Black History Parade will feature floats, fly-over jets, dance troupes, community youth organizations, marching bands and local and national dignitaries.
Wolf Creek Amphitheater plans a Juneteenth celebration on Father’s Day with with live music including gospel, R&B, jazz, hip-hop and soul.
Celebrate Juneteenth at Atlanta History Center on June 15. History will come alive through hands-on craft demonstrations and an exclusive conversation with author and chair maker Robell Awake and historian Dr. Tiffany Momon. You will have the opportunity to interact with skilled makers who blend tradition with innovation, to witness artistry in action and discover your own creative voice within this rich legacy.
On June 19 (close enough for Dad’s Day), High Museum of Art plans a Juneteenth celebration, free of charge. You are invited to create art, enjoy performances and, of course, explore the art.
Dads with Daughters

The annual Ryan Cameron Foundation Father and Daughter Sneaker Ball is all set for June 15 at Atlanta City Hall. There will be a buffet dinner, with music to set the mood. Dads and daughters also can also participate in a silent auction with exclusive items and experiences up for bid.
Mix Mocktails with Dad

Colony Square invites Dads and their offspring to a Mocktail Mixology Workshop. You will create two or three zero-proof drinks using botanical, herbal and traditional ingredients, guided by a wellness mixologist. You’ll learn flavor layering and bar skills while enjoying delicious booze-free sips. The experience Includes all ingredients, recipe cards and 15% off in-store shopping. Dining Dad

There is no shortage of restaurants in Atlanta for Dads who love to eat. If Dad is a food connoisseur, choose a restaurant from our New Additions to the MICHELIN Guide Atlanta in 2024. Big Ketch Saltwater Grill suggests shrimp pasta Alfredo in a creamy house-made sauce ($32), steak frites with garlic butter and fries ($36) or a sweet potato-crusted trout.
Chido & Padre’s is offering regular brunch and dinner menus enhanced with Father’s Day features. Highlights include the brunch-only Nopales Oaxaca omelet with skillet hash potatoes, Morita chile salsa and queso Oaxaca ($15) and the carne asada grilled skirt steak served with ranchero sauce.
Epicurean Atlanta’s invites families to Father’s Day BBQ & Brews. The event features bottomless BBQ on the ninth-floor Sky Terrace.
Gypsy Kitchen offers Father’s Day specials black-eyed pea falafel served with mint labneh and chile oil ($14) and braised lamb shank with pearl couscous, preserved lemon and mint ($38) — available during dinner only.
Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails will serve Sunday brunch from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 until 9 p.m.
HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern plans a cinnamon apple stuffed waffle brunch special ($13.95), packed with cinnamon apple, cream cheese and pecans, finished with a bourbon cream sauce. Later, Dads can dig into the Big Daddy burger and beer combo ($19.95), starring a country-fried burger patty topped with Southern sausage gravy, a fried egg and crispy tobacco onions. Dan can raise a glass with the “No Yard Work Today” Peach Smash ($8), a mix of Elijah Craig bourbon, brown sugar peaches, mint and ginger beer.
Mary Mac’s Tea Room opens early at 10 a.m. Menu classics include fried chicken, meatloaf, fried green tomatoes, pot likker and Georgia peach cobbler.
Southern Gentleman hosts a $65 prix-fixe brunch from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with Southern starters like fried green tomatoes and entrée choices that include steak and eggs with Hollandaise, short rib pot roast and bourbon-glazed salmon over jambalaya rice. Dessert includes bourbon pecan pie and banana cream pie. The regular dinner menu — with added features — begins at 5:30 p.m.
On Father’s Day at Tesserae, in addition to the regular dinner menu, guests have the option to indulge in a steak dinner featuring a 16-ounce bone-in beef ribeye topped with black garlic butter, served alongside herb truffle mashed potatoes and a garlic green bean sauté, for $65. Add three jumbo tiger shrimp for $16. Elevate the evening even further with a handcrafted tableside old-fashioned featuring Edmonds Honor Bourbon for $25, prepared right at your table.
Brasserie Margot is cooking up a special Dad’s Only Burger stacked with double patties, American cheese, bacon, charred red onions, pickles and Dijonnaise, perfect for pairing with the brasserie’s signature pilsner, Bière, for just $25 on Father’s Day. From there, it’s all options: duck confit and waffles, rotisserie chicken crêpes in truffl and lots more.
The Omni Atlanta Hotel plans an Old-Fashioned Father’s Day Brunch with Elijah Craig. There will be live jazz to go along with the elevated brunch buffet with carving stations, charcuterie and a seafood ice bar. Guests may craft their own Old Fashioned with a table-side Elijah Craig bourbon cart.
On June 18 at 6 p.m., O by Brush is hosting an event where tuna-loving Dads can watch James Beard-nominated, MiICHELIN-starred chef Jason Liang and his culinary team break down an entire bluefin tuna to then serve eight fresh, unique courses. Dishes will highlight various parts of the fish — tuna spinal jelly shots, tuna ramen with tuna cheek and more. Reservations are necessary.
Dancing Dad

Musical Dad

Just ahead of Father’s Day, Chattahoochee Nature Center’s Sunset Sips series features Magnolia Express from 6 until 9:30 p.m. on June 12. Magnolia Express plays Americana/jamgrass music in an acoustic “sonic stew” of country, gospel, bluegrass and roots styles of music. Building upon a mutual love for outlaw country, mountain music, improvisation and a love of all things Grateful Dead, the music evolved.
Here’s another musical option. Mother’s Finest, a rock band, performs at Buckhead Theatre on June 14.
City Winery invites Dads and their offspring to Poetry vs. Hip-Hop on June 15. Poets will go head-to-head with emcees in a friendly, all peace and love “battle.” Competitors are required to hug (or dap or show each other love in some way) to emphasize the bridging of gaps and culture. Artists are encouraged to perform their best work. At the end of each round, the audience cheers wildly, throws money, stomps on the floor and goes wild for their favorite performance.
Dad Loves a Good Brew or Whiskey Flight
If Dad loves nothing more than a good brew, look here: Local Breweries Offer New Ways for Beer Lovers to Experience Atlanta. Here’s another idea: the Atlanta Summer Beer Fest is set for 4 to 8 p.m June 14 at Old Fourth Ward Park. Sounds like an outing. Also on June 14, Aveline plans a premium whiskey tasting, plus a take-home gift for Dad. Flights will feature Roe and Co Irish Whiskey, Bulleit 10-year aged bourbon and Johnny Walker Black Label.
Dad Needs to Relax
The Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead is offering a Father’s Day Spa Escape. The package includes up to four hours of access to the spa’s amenities (steam room, dry sauna, whirlpool, relaxation lounge and fitness center) plus a complimentary glass of premium bourbon or whiskey, a mini chair massage and a Waldorf-branded leather toiletry bag stocked with wellness essentials including cologne, CBD balm and an eye mask.
Gaming Dad
In addition to all the games to play, Your 3rd Spot plans a dad garden station, two family photo booths and dad and daughter dances. Dining highlights include a six- or eight-course Taste & Explore menu and a dedicated kids’ meal with beignets and ice cream.
Dads get in free to LEGO Discovery Center on Father’s Day and up to three guests get 50% off the price of admission.
Curious Dad
Some dads are just curious. Atlanta museums are the perfect place for dads who just can’t learn enough about, well, everything. Fernbank Museum of Natural History, the High Museum of Art, the Worlds of Puppetry Museum at Center for Puppetry Arts, Museum of Design Atlanta and the Mimms Museum of Technology and Art all be open on Father’s Day. A field trip is always fun.
