Atlanta Spring Sports Lineup

Cheer on the home team in Atlanta and catch a game or two while you’re in town. From baseball to soccer, basketball, volleyball and much more, it’s easy for you to get in on the action.

Atlanta Braves

Atlanta Braves fans are ready for another fun season.

Atlanta Braves 2023 National League MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. will lead the way for the Atlanta Braves as they look to continue staying on top of the NL East for another season. The Braves will play their home opener at Truist Park in The Battery on April 5 against the defending NL Champions Arizona Diamondbacks. There are plenty of promotions and giveaways at the ballpark this season, including a special Hank Aaron All-Time Home Run Record bobblehead giveaway on April 8 against the Mets, a 73 Stolen Bases for Acuña bobblehead giveaway on April 24 against the Marlins, a throwback cap giveaway presented by NAPA on May 8 against the Red Sox, an Acuña MVP bobblehead giveaway on May 28 against the Nationals and a Matt Olson Franchise Home Run Record bobblehead giveaway two days later.

Atlanta Hawks

State Farm Arena, home to the Hawks.

Trae Young and the Hawks are hoping to return to the NBA Playoffs once again. With 10 home games left in the spring, they’ll need plenty of support from fans at State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta to get back to the postseason one more time. Hispanic Heritage Night is March 10 against the Pelicans, while Women’s Empowerment Night will take place on March 25 against the Celtics. Crowning Courage Night on March 27 against the Trail Blazers will honor active and retired military personnel, while the Hawks will close out the home regular season on April 10 against the Hornets with the annual Fan Appreciation Night. Should the Hawks make the playoffs, State Farm Arena’s playoff atmosphere is one of the best in the NBA and should be experienced to be believed.

2022 FIFA World Cup Champion Thiago Almada and a new-look Atlanta United FC squad will take to the pitch for another season of high-octane soccer action at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Five Stripes will play their first home game of the season on March 9 against the New England Revolution, which will be the first of eight home games this spring at the world’s first pro sports stadium to achieve True Platinum certification for zero waste. This includes big games like rivals Orlando City coming into town on March 17, Supporters Shield Winners FC Cincinnati visiting on April 20 and the 2023 Western Conference Champions Los Angeles FC on May 25. Even if you don’t go to one of the marquee games on the schedule, an Atlanta United match is always one of the most exciting events in the city and you can enjoy the action at one of the many pub partners across Atlanta.

Atlanta Dream

Pro hoops in Atlanta doesn’t stop with the Hawks, as Rhyne Howard and the Atlanta Dream will begin their journey to return and go deeper into the WNBA Playoffs this season. After a quick trip out West to start the season, the Dream will return to the Gateway Center Arena at College Park for the season opener on May 21 against the Dallas Wings. May 26 will see the Minnesota Lynx come to town before the marquee home game of the season happens on May 31. That’s when the back-to-back WNBA Champions Las Vegas Aces will be the visitors for what will surely be an exciting contest. It’s also a good idea to get tickets as soon as you can – the Dream had 12 home sellouts last season, which led the entire WNBA in that category.

Atlanta Vibe

There’s a new game in town this spring, as the Pro Volleyball Federation has its inaugural season and the Atlanta Vibe will represent our proud city. The season is already underway after the Vibe earned the win in Omaha in the first-ever game in league history but there are still plenty of opportunities to go see Leah Edmond, Tori Dilfer-Stringer and the rest of the team in action at Gas South Arena in Duluth. They will have eight home games for the rest of the season, starting on March 9 against the Las Vegas Thrill and ending with the regular season finale on May 2 against the Columbus Fury. With affordable ticket pricing, the Vibe and the PVF look to bring the excitement of volleyball to fans both new and old.

Overtime Elite

March Madness isn’t just reserved for college basketball – it also goes for the exciting prospects who ply their trade at the Overtime Elite Arena at Atlantic Station. The basketball action involving some of the top 17-to-20-year-old hoopers from both the U.S. and abroad is reaching a fever pitch, as the semifinals for the Overtime Elite League will conclude on March 1. After that, the first two games of the OTE Finals will take place on March 7 and 8 with a potential third and deciding game taking place on March 14. With courtside seats going for just $150 and tickets otherwise being $15, it’s a great deal to watch the best ballers who could go on to be major stars in basketball in the future. There’s also OTX Overtime Boxing taking place at the arena as well, as there are three events set for March 29, April 19 and May 31, respectively. If you want a unique sporting experience unlike anything else in Atlanta, then Overtime Elite is the place for you.
