Founded in 1878, independent Brenau University provides liberal arts graduate and undergraduate education to more than 2,500 students through its women's college in Gainesville, its coeducational satellite campuses in metro Atlanta and other Georgia locations, and its fully accredited online college. Brenau Academy is a residential preparatory institution for grades nine through twelve. Brenau students prepare to lead extraordinary lives with a curriculum that provides a global view of society; encourages appreciation for the arts and music; develops scientific, social and cultural curiosity; and empowers communications skills. Brenau confers degrees in nursing, education, business, communication, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, humanities, interior design, dance, music and many other academic disciplines. Intercollegiate sports are expanding competitively, and Brenau also offers a rich Greek tradition. Brenau's 55-acre main campus occupies part of the tree-lined historic section of one of Georgia's most graceful and fastest-growing communities. About 50 miles north of Atlanta -- with easy highway access to lodging, restaurants, shopping, cultural activities and historic attractions -- Gainesville is a gateway to Lake Lanier and the Blue Ridge Mountains. You will find many opportunities to interact with students, faculty and other members of the Brenau family through theater, dance, music, the arts, sporting events and other activities.
