Open - Changes to operations


Georgia Aquarium has officially reopened, guests can now visit the Aquarium to explore and enjoy its galleries and over 10 million gallons of water, but with some changes. Georgia Aquarium takes the safety of its guests and staff very seriously. The Aquarium established time blocks with limited capacity, new cleaning and sanitization protocols, and updated processes to ensure the Aquarium is operating in accordance with the advice of the state and federal governments and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Come explore and learn at Georgia Aquarium, the nation’s largest and most magical aquarium! Our 10 million gallons of fresh and salt water house the largest single aquarium habitat in the world and more aquatic life than any other aquarium in North America. Georgia Aquarium offers shows, interactive animal interactions, animal encounters, Behind the Seas tours and more.

Safety Measures

We have limited capacity for each of our 30-minute entry timeslots, new cleaning and sanitization protocols, and updated processes to ensure the Aquarium is operating in accordance with the advice of the state and federal governments and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Tickets are only available online and need to be purchased in advance of your visit. NEW MASK REQUIREMENT Georgia Aquarium will continue to use the guidance from the CDC and the Georgia Department of Public Health to establish our safety protocol. In accordance with a city executive order by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, as of Saturday, July 31, masks will be required for all team members regardless of vaccination status, and as of Monday, August 2, masks will again be required for all guests entering the Aquarium. New signage will be placed around the Aquarium reinforcing our masks requirement, and also reminding our guests to be considerate and kind to our staff and volunteers during their visit. As a reminder, all masks must be worn properly, over the mouth and nose, for the entirety of your shift.
