Getting to know Atlanta just got better — and it’s free. Yes, the ATL is a very walkable city, and our neighborhoods are connected by MARTA, our public transportation system. But now, until July 15, check out — or better yet, ride — the Discover ATL Hop & Ride Free Shuttle, which offers another way to connect with Atlanta and have fun in our neighborhoods. That means you’ll not only be able to use this complimentary shuttle service during the FIFA World Cup games, but you’ll also be able to take it to celebrate Juneteenth and the Fourth of July.
How to get on?

It’s very simple. Pick up your colorful, free (sorry, we can’t say that enough) daily boarding pass at the three designated Shuttle HUBS – South Downtown, Midtown at the Woodruff Arts Center and Ponce City Market – and get going. You can ride the routes throughout the day and hop on and off at five stops along the way.
An added bonus is that knowledgeable ambassadors on the Discover ATL Shuttle point out local sites and provide lively narration highlighting Atlanta’s rich history, culture, music, sports and community spirit. You’ll get a real feeling for the city and a bit of knowledge as well.
There are two shuttle bus schedules: one running clockwise and one counterclockwise. The route begins and ends at the HQ HUB South Downtown, dropping passengers off at The Krog District and Little Five Points before heading to the other transportation hubs — HUB Ponce City Market and HUB Midtown’s Woodruff Arts Center — and then back to South Downtown. It also goes in reverse of this route. The shuttles will run every 20 to 30 minutes.

Where Can We Go?

South Downtown (HUB)
The HQ HUB South Downtown shuttle, located at 93 Broad St., offers walkable access to Atlanta Stadium, GWCC, CTR (the recently renovated former CNN Center with new restaurants and bars), the FIFA Fan Festival at Centennial Park, and other major events and activations happening in Downtown. In addition, you can fully experience our MARTA rail system at the Five Points MARTA station, where all the rail lines intersect.
Ponce City Market (HUB)
Located at 675 Ponce de Leon, provides terrific access to the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside Trail. Take a walk and take the time to enjoy locally owned boutiques, eateries and lots of people to watch.
Ponce City Market — or Ponce (as locals call it) — has a variety of shops and a food court that features a number of esteemed restaurants helmed by local chefs. Try out Botiwalla by Chai Pani, which serves up delicious Indian food; its sister restaurant, Chai Pani, has a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand nod. El Super Pan, by renowned Atlanta chef Hector Santiago, serves up the vibrant cuisine of Puerto Rico, while H&F Burger, crafted by James Beard Award-winning chef Linton Hopkins, regularly makes local and national best-burger lists.
While there is a lot to see, buy and eat inside, be sure to take the elevator to The Roof and experience the city’s ultimate rooftop party with mini golf, skating, dining and other fun and games.
Woodruff Arts Center (HUB)
One of the centers of Atlanta culture, with the Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre (music icon Gloria Estefan just debuted her new play), the Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the High Museum of Art, one of the Southeast’s best art museums, all located here. Enjoy a delightful dining experience at Elise, Chef Craig Richards’ acclaimed French- and Italian-inspired restaurant. His nearby restaurant, Lyla Lila, is a MICHELIN Guide Recommended restaurant. The Arts Center MARTA station is next door.
The shuttle pickup spot is 1280 Peachtree Street at Callaway Plaza.
Cross the street and walk a block, and you’re at Colony Square, which has a terrific food court, Politan Row, as well as other restaurants and entertainment offerings. Also, it’s a short walk to some of Midtown’s best attractions, such as the Museum of Design Atlanta, The Breman Museum & Cultural Center, Center for Puppetry Arts, the Margaret Mitchell House, Piedmont Park and the Fox Theatre.
The Krog District
Similar to Ponce City Market, The Krog District is home to a diverse mix of award-winning restaurants and is a hop, skip and a jump to the Beltline Eastside Trail. The District is a collection of landmark properties, including Krog Street Market, Atlanta Stove Works and SPX Alley. Among the restaurants in this area are Fred’s Meat & Bread, Superica, and Ticonderoga Club, all MICHELIN Bib Gourmand picks.
Little Five Points
One of the city’s hippest neighborhoods, with some of the best vintage clothing, dive bars, and vinyl record shops — and probably the Southeast. The Junkman’s Daughter is an icon for those who love vintage clothing and, well, other stuff that you didn’t know that you wanted or needed. One of the area’s ultimate soccer and sports bars is The Brewhouse Cafe, while The Porter Beer Bar is perfect for those who want to stop for a cold one; it has more than 800 different beer bottles.
It’s a short walk to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, and the historic Plaza Theater in Virginia Highland, and a shared ride to Fernbank Museum of Natural History.

It is important to note that no alcohol is permitted on the shuttle at any time, and that the shuttles are not ADA-compliant and have no wheelchair accessibility. All riders must present an official shuttle credential (wristband pass) before boarding at any location. The wristbands are available for free at the three designated Shuttle HUBS (South Downtown, Midtown at Woodruff Arts Center and Ponce City Market).
