Atlanta has a lot to offer kids, from tots to teens. Enjoy kid-friendly adventurous thrills on rides at Six Flags Over Georgia. Explore nature on any of Atlanta’s many hiking trails or parks and consider visiting Chattahoochee Nature Center for a canoe trip, group activity, or visit to the butterfly festival. Ever wanted to learn everything there is to know about America’s favorite beverage? At World of Coca-Cola you can. Sample from more than 100 different Coca-Cola products from around the world, get a peek inside the history of this famous beverage and see how it is bottled.

Zoo Atlanta

With more than 1,000 animals, representing more than 200 species from around the world, Zoo Atlanta has much to offer in the way of education and entertainment. Be sure to check out the website prior to your visit for year-around events and educational opportunities by age. Kids can blow off steam at The Naked Mole Rat playground or KIDZone rides and attraction area. Pack a change of clothes for your kids and let them cool off in Splash Fountain, open seasonally.

Six Flags Over Georgia 

Explore your wild side with more than 40 rides and 11 roller coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia. Three children’s areas offer milder entertainment for the smaller set. Also, you can cool off in Hurricane Harbor, an interactive water park.

Chattahoochee Nature Center

Get outside and explore CNC’s 127-acres where you can hike, play and discover various natural habitats and educational displays. Pack a picnic, visit the Chattahoochee Nature Center theater and participate in various educational programs focusing on natural science and ecology. Check the calendar for upcoming special family activities like canoeing and night hikes.

Children’s Museum of Atlanta

Geared especially for kids to learn through play, Children’s Museum of Atlanta is is the largest children’s museum in Georgia, and its state-of-the-art center is divided into six learning zones and rotating feature exhibits. Kids can create art, climb, experiment and more.

Great Wolf Lodge

A great mini-vacation destination, nearby Great Wolf Lodge offers tons of activities for the entire family. There is an indoor water park plus character appearances, Camp H.O.W.L- kids activity camp, story times, pajama parties and so much more. Great Wolf is located in LaGrange, Ga.

Center for Puppetry Arts

There are two museums in one with workshops and performances, and all of that makes Center for Puppetry Arts a great destination for the young and young at heart. Visit the amazing works of Jim Henson, view puppets from around the globe, participate in puppet-making workshops and take in a show.
